MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Renewal program - To assist in retaining current members.

Awards Program - To keep records of activities, achievements and accomplishments of individual members, groups of members and whole detachment. Make recommendations to staff about awards to individuals or groups outside the league who have assisted the League, made a significant contribution to our country, communities etc.

ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE

Quarterly Fun Night - line up 3 possible events by second meeting of quarter. Bring suggestions to meeting for a vote. Have suggestions for staff at meeting.

Membership drive - Coordinate 2 events per year with Membership Committee for purpose of recruitment for members. These events should be chosen to commemorate some event in U.S. Marine Corps history. Furnish written & signed report at least 2 meetings prior to event. Coordinate with Paymaster and Staff. Detachment Birthday - Party to be held in August of each year for purposes of Honoring our Detachment involvement in our Marine Corps and our Communities for preceding year. Plans submitted to Staff by our June meeting. Keep our Detachment Commandant & or Staff involved.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Semper Fi Food drive: To be held in NOVEMBER of each year. Get from members Signs and other equipment which may be on hand. Assure all bags and flyers are completed and in possession by our Sept. meeting and to be presented. Include who gets food and where it is to be delivered or picked up.

Guest Speakers: Line up 1 guest speaker per quarter can be during fun night or at regular meeting. At least one speaker annually should be an Officer in United States Marines. Speaker should be prepared for a 15 minute presentation which can be extended to 30 minutes if needed.

Involvement Search: Search for any type of assistance that our Detachment can get involved in to Promote our Marine Corps and Our Detachment in our community. Make sure that when you find a project your Committee identifies a goal for our detachment to attain which is realistic and achievable with our Detachment Funds and Man/Woman power. Submit a report to the Detachment Commandant as soon as possible. If this is something that is of a severe nature that requires immediate attention an emergency meeting will be called. Involvement with other organizations to assist them achieve their goals as long as they will reflect Honor and Respect of our Marine Corps and Detachment and they are consistent with beliefs of our Corps and Detachment. (NON POLITICAL) This will require a vote at a regular meeting.

U.S.M.C. Reserves TOYS for TOTS - Coordinate with local USMC Recruiters. Select and obtain authorize locations for the barrels. Coordinate with Marines for special appearances at chosen locations when their time permits. Assure that all plans are in effect and equipment is in committees possession by Octobers meeting. A report should be presented to Detachment Staff at October meeting.
Poolee Family Night - Normally April of each year. Stay in contact with RS Houston and our Conroe Recruiters and get exact date as early as possible. Work with recruiters to define our detachments commitment and how funding for this event is going to be handled.

YOUTH AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Get suggestions from detachment members to identify ways our detachment can show support and acknowledgment for our communities Youth and accomplishments they have made. (schools, scouts, church, hospitals, volunteerism etc.) All suggestions should be brought before our detachment and a report submitted to detachment staff and at a regular meeting. Detachment Commandant should be notified by phone only if event is due prior to next meeting and late notification was received by committee.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Will be made up of Committee Heads from above described committees. This committee will have responsibility to find suitable replacements for our Detachment Staff Officers who will no longer be able to serve due to term limitations or for personal reasons. This task should be completed by February's meeting. Nominations from floor will be taken at February's meeting. Elections at the March meeting. Installation of new officers at March or April meeting.
